Today’s news is tomorrow’s history

If you’re a history buff, I recommend checking out our Flashback San Diego series from reporter Debbie L. Sklar. Even if you’re not into dwelling on the past, what about considering a landmark just outside your neighborhood? We’ve got one from yesterday about the Mission San Diego de Alcalá.

You may have noticed, things have changed around here recently. We’ve ramped up our local coverage and worked to go deeper on local issues that impact your community.

For one thing, I’m new to this newsletter. I was hired about a month ago to manage all of our newsletters and grow our social media presence. If you don’t follow Times of San Diego, we’re currently on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Nextdoor and LinkedIn.

If, on Friday, you go to pick up a free copy of the Mission Times Courier or find it in your driveway, you might notice it looks a bit different. We redesigned our community papers to provide an updated, modern design.
