Introducing our new look

We have some exciting news: Times of San Diego’s community papers got a makeover! Today, we’re distributing four of our seven community newspapers with a whole new look.

The redesign is noticeable both in the layout and in our transition to a tabloid paper, rather than a broadsheet. If you have no idea what that means, what better way to find out than picking one up for yourself? Our featured story has a list of locations where you can grab one.

Are you going somewhere southbound from La Jolla on I-5 this weekend? I’d hate to ruin your plans, but think again.

Starting tonight at 9 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. all traffic moving south on I-5 will be closed from state Route 52 to the Mission Bay drive onramp. Basically, don’t try to drive from La Jolla to Mission Bay on I-5 this weekend. It won’t work.

There have been quite a few road closures lately, while the one that made a lot of headlines was about live ammunition, most of them have been related to a larger I-5 maintenance project.

And just when I thought the biggest transportation headache this weekend would come from traffic and road closures, the Federal Aviation Administration announced that they have to reduce flight traffic by 10%.

It might be a good weekend to stick to the trolley, or a nice walk around the block.
