Beach & Bay Press weekly update

Today’s newsletter is presented by addresssd.com.

Hello, Pacific and Mission Beach!

Good morning! Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of August? It’s almost time for locals’ summer. 😎☀️

Based on responses from last week’s newsletter, it sounds like we’re in agreement that what makes Pacific Beach special is the community support — and the way we show up for each other. For some folks, that might look like volunteering with local groups, exploring free events, taking an exercise class at Kate Sessions or Palisades Park or making friends with the owner of a local business. There are so many ways to show up.

Speaking of free events, there are a few this weekend:

The Pacific Beach Car Show is Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Garnet Avenue between Mission and Dawes.

Concerts on the Green is hosting its second-to-last show of the season this Sunday with local band Dirty Bird. The show starts at 4 p.m. at Kate Sessions Park.

And the Catamaran is showing Disney’s “Encanto” on Monday night as part of its Summer Concerts on the Bay series. Movies start at 8 p.m. on the bayside.

If there are any other upcoming free events you think we should know about, send me a note at beachandbayhost@gmail.com!

I hope to see you around town this weekend!
