Sempra Energy, the parent company of San Diego Gas & Electric, announced Friday an 8 percent increase in its annual dividend.
The San Diego-based utility holding company said its board of directors approved the increase to $3.02 per share annually from $2.80 per share. The first installment is payable April 15 to shareholders of record on March 25.
The Fortune 500 company has annual revenue of $11 billion, employs 17,000 people and serves more than 32 million consumers worldwide.
