One person was killed Saturday when a vehicle crashed and overturned in San Marcos.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 2:03 a.m. on westbound state Route 78 approaching Rancho Santa Fe Road.
The CHP reported that the driver of the vehicle was awake when freed and taken by ambulance to a hospital as firefighters worked to free the passenger.
OnScene.TV reported that first responders pronounced the passenger dead at the scene and said the vehicle was a Nissan GT-R.
All lanes of traffic were opened at 6:02 a.m.
