Scripps Health supporters gathered June 12 for the 30th annual Spinoff event—this year a festive luau hosted at the Rancho Santa Fe home of longtime donors Bill and Janie Rohn. The tropical-themed evening raised $525,000 to benefit the oncology nutrition program at Scripps Cancer Center.

More than 140 guests enjoyed Polynesian-inspired food and entertainment and heard firsthand how personalized nutrition guidance plays a crucial role in helping cancer patients maintain strength during treatment and recovery.

An additional $100,000 was raised at the event to support the purchase of advanced radiation oncology equipment.

This year’s event was sponsored by Ella and Han Helders, Brooke Koehler, and Susan and Steve Mollenkopf.

Launched in 2020 and funded through philanthropy, Scripps’ oncology nutrition program provides cancer patients with individualized, evidence-based dietary support to improve outcomes and reduce the risk of recurrence. The program is led by a team of registered dietitians with advanced training in oncology and nutrition support.
