
A veteran prosecutor from the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown Thursday to a San Diego Superior Court judgeship.
Kelly Chong Mok, 48, has been assistant chief at the North County branch of the district attorney’s office since last year. The Loyola Law School graduate has served as a deputy district attorney in the office since 1994.
Effective Feb. 9, Mok will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge William C. Gentry Jr.
Mok, a Democrat, will receive an annual salary of $189,041.
