Who said anything about bad luck?

Chipotle is leaning into Internet culture with a one-hour, tattoo-themed giveaway on Friday, June 13.

The fast-casual chain is offering a buy-one-get-one (BOGO) deal from 3 to 4 p.m. for anyone who shows up “tatted like a Chipotle bag.” That includes real tattoos, temporary tattoos, or even hand-drawn ink that nods to the brand.

This short-lived promotion comes with the release of a new set of temporary tattoos inspired by Chipotle’s most recognizable icons: its black fork, water cup, signature slogans, and food ingredients. The 13 limited-edition flash tattoo designs were created in response to a long-running meme comparing people’s body art to the doodles on Chipotle’s takeout bags—a joke that’s been circulating since a 2019 football halftime show.

The temporary tattoos will be handed out at just 13 Chipotle locations nationwide during the same one-hour window, while supplies last. Check here for San Diego locations.

To get the BOGO deal, customers need to show off any kind of tattoo—real, fake, or improvised—that pays homage to the Chipotle vibe. The offer is limited to in-store orders only. Kids’ meals don’t count, and the free item must be of equal or lesser value.

This isn’t Chipotle’s first fan-driven promo. In past years, the chain has released novelty items like glovebox napkin holders and a branded “Extra Fork Collection.” But this is the first time the company has tied a national deal to something as offbeat as tattoos.

The promotion will not be extended beyond the one-hour window and is not available online or via delivery apps.
