POINT LOMA – As if on cue, an overcast sky dissipated and sunshine beamed down upon Bennie Edens Field as thousands of family members and well-wishers gathered in Pete Ross Stadium.

The masses overflowed onto the track and playing field to celebrate Point Loma High School’s 99th commencement. This year’s class numbered 400, many of them decorating their caps with university choices, while others are military or work-bound.

And as the years pass, they too will proudly repeat the school’s mantra, “Once a Pointer, Always a Pointer.”
