A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Chula Vista, authorities said Friday.
The collision occurred around 9 p.m. Thursday when a 72-year-old woman driving a silver 2013 Toyota RAV4 southbound on Fourth Avenue near Naples Street struck a male pedestrian, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.
Police said first responders attempted life-saving measures on the victim before taking him to a hospital, where he died shortly after arrival. His name was not immediately released.
The driver involved cooperated with the investigation, police said.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the crash.
