As the sun sets over Cardiff-by-the-Sea on Thursday, May 1, the heart of downtown will come alive with the sounds of conversation, clinking glasses, and live music.
Yep, the 15th Annual Taste of Cardiff is back and invites locals and visitors alike to explore the town’s evolving food and drink scene.
From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., restaurants and retailers along San Elijo Avenue and South Coast Highway 101 will open their doors, offering a selection of bites and beverages. Whether it’s a signature dish from a neighborhood favorite or a fresh market creation, the evening is a chance to experience the flavors that make this coastal town unique.
New this year, the event expands with more tasting stations and the return of the Rooftop Libation Lounge at Cardiff-by-the-Sea Lodge. With panoramic ocean views and a lively soundtrack of live music, it’s the perfect spot to unwind with a drink in hand.
Speaking of drinks, Sip Stops throughout the event will showcase North County’s best craft beer, wine, hard kombucha, and more — each hosted by a local business, making it an opportunity to connect with Cardiff’s community beyond just the food.
In an effort to keep the event sustainable, all tasting venues will use bamboo sporks, aligning with the city’s ongoing environmental initiatives.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, March 20, and early purchase is highly recommended. Last year sold out, and with ticket prices at $50 for food tastings and $55 for the full Taste & Sip experience, they’re expected to go quickly.
Prices will increase in the final week before the event.
