Erickson-Hall Construction, in collaboration with Sweetwater Union High School District, will break ground on Tuesday for a major renovation at Mar Vista Academy.

This project will add two cutting-edge academic buildings and significant campus upgrades, creating an enriched learning environment for students and staff.

The event will bring together Erickson-Hall leaders, district officials, school staff and community members.

“We’re thrilled to start work on these new facilities, which reflect our district’s commitment to creating exceptional learning environments for our students,” said Moisés G. Aguirre, superintendent of the Sweetwater Union district. “By investing in modern, student-centered spaces, we are empowering the next generation to excel and achieve their full potential.”

The project, in all, will deliver 13,522 square feet of new facilities. Key elements include a new administration and student support building to centralizing essential services, multi-purpose center, redesigned student quad and new campus entrance and accessible parking and pathways.

Mat Gates, President of Erickson-Hall Construction Co., highlighted the importance and impact of the project. “Our collaboration with the Sweetwater Union High School District is about more than bricks and mortar,” Gates said. “These renovations are an investment in the future — creating a campus that will inspire students, support educators, and positively impact the entire community.”
