An abandoned flatbed truck, carrying a recently-stolen ATM machine, was found in Tierrasanta on Sunday.
The cash machine had been removed from its moorings at the Chase Bank in the 10000 block of Tierrasanta Boulevard. Its absence was noted and reported to police at 5:50 a.m.
The purloined ATM was found several miles away, on the truck, between 8:30 and 9 a.m. It had been abandoned on Portobelo Drive, next to the Route 52 Freeway and east of Santo Road. A manhunt was underway for the suspects, police said.
