Westfield UTC, an outdoor shopping center located near UC San Diego in University City, announced four new openings, including a toy store and three clothing stores.

The new openings include POP MART, a toy company; UNIQLO, a Japanese clothing store focused on Lifewear; BYLT Premium Basics, a clothing store for the “go-getter;” and Faherty, a beach-inspired apparel store.

Additionally, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, an NYC-originated ice cream parlor chain, Lola 55, a Mexican food restaurant known for its tacos and cocktails, and Melo Melo, a coconut-based dessert chain, will be openings coming to the center later this year. 

Here’s a look at the four new stores at Westfield UTC:

POP MART

POP MART is a toy company, making numerous collectible and designer toys, creating toys of well-known characters including MOLLY, The Monsters, DIMOO, Skullpanda, and more. With stores in over 23 countries and regions through a network of 350+ offlines stores and 2000+ Roboshops, POP MART opened doors at Westfield UTC this month, catering to the many pop culture, comic, and art fans in San Diego.

UNIQLO

Coming to the store in October, UNIQLO presents Lifewear, clothes designed with high-quality material with an emphasis on practicality and comfort for daily life. UNIQLO has created apparel that comes from the Japanese values of simplicity, quality and longevity, creating clothes focused on universal designs, supreme fit, and comfort.s one of the brand’s newest stores, UNIQLO is hosting opening events in October, including a ribbon cutting ceremony, exclusive promotions, giveaways and special customer experiences.

BYLT Premium Basics

Founded in 2016, BYLT provides transition apparel, footwear and accessories for “the go-getter, the pioneer and the ambitious,” consisting of tailored apparel and enhanced designs. In celebration of the store’s grand opening on Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the store will provide numerous special offers and activities including gifting the first 100 customers a free tote bag, providing complimentary coffee, “Spin to Win” prizes, raffle drawings for gift cards and collection prizes, and a free PCH hat on any purchase of $50 or more.

Faherty

With over a decade of history, Faherty is a family-led, high-quality clothing brand “inspired by all-day surf sessions, road trips and bonfires on the beach.” To celebrate the opening of the UTC store on Aug. 23,  the store will host a Summer Friday Celebration from 3-6 p.m. featuring refreshing drinks, hors d’oeuvres, live music and the opportunity to meet co-founder and CEO Alex Faherty.
