Officials of the San Diego Community College District held grand opening ceremonies today for San Diego Continuing Education’s $49 million Cesar Chavez Campus in Barrio Logan.

The 68,000-square-foot facility at 1901 Main St. houses 22 classrooms for vocational training, English as a Second Language, citizenship and other adult education instruction.

The new building also includes a multipurpose room, administrative offices, and space for the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Program.

The facility consolidates programs held in a downtown building and another location near Chicano Park.

Underground parking provides 149 spaces, including preferred parking for carpools and high-efficiency vehicles, while an adjacent lot will provide an additional 320 spaces.
