San Diego will see slight relief from extreme heat in parts of the county this week, but highs will still be above 100 degrees in the deserts, according to the National Weather Service.

High temperatures Thursday are expected to reach 73 to 78 near the coast, 80 to 83 inland, 82 to 86 in the western valleys, 89 to 94 near the foothills, 87 to 97 in the mountains and 106 to 110 in the deserts, NWS said.

Monsoonal moisture will decrease through Friday, with mostly dry weather expected for the mountains and deserts.

Moisture is expected to increase by the weekend, where shower and storm chances peak on Saturday.

A trough will linger in the area by Monday. This will bring drier, less humid and slightly cooler temperatures for much of next week.
