Firefighters battled a residential structure fire apparently occupied by squatters in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego Sunday.
Units were dispatched at 3:45 a.m. Sunday to 3830 41st St., near the intersection of University Avenue, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
There was evidence of people living in the two-story home that had been abandoned for several years, OnScene.TV reported.
A total of 33 personnel were assigned to the fire, including one truck, one medic and five engines, officials said. A fire investigator was also sent to the site.
No injuries or evacuations were immediately reported.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
