
San Diego Blood Bank is currently looking for donors to help victims of Hurricane Beryl, the category one hurricane that hit Texas early Monday. According to the Blood Bank, the storm surges, winds and flooding has led the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to endure power losses and city-wide infrastructure damage. Impacting their ability to support hospital patients in need.
Because of this, they are looking for community members in the San Diego area to help by scheduling an appointment to donate blood as soon as possible. All types are urgently needed, especially O positive and O negative.
To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health. Appointments will be honored first, walk-ins welcome. Appointments and are available at SanDiegobloodbank.org or by calling 619-400-8251
