A 23-year-old man shot in the face in a suspected gang-related attack Thursday night in the Lincoln Park neighborhood is expected to survive.
The car-to-car shooting at the intersection of Euclid and Imperial avenues was reported around 10:15 p.m. , San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.
A gunshot that struck the victim in his face was fired shortly after a vehicle pulled up alongside the victim’s car in the turn lane from eastbound Imperial Avenue to northbound Euclid Avenue.
Heims said the wounded man managed to turn the corner and drive a few blocks. He was driven to a hospital in another vehicle.
A suspect description was not immediately available, but a witness told police a light-colored sedan was seen turning south onto Euclid Avenue about the same time, according to the officer.
