San Diego is the eighth best city in the United States in which to trick-or-treat on Halloween, and Del Mar Heights is the best local neighborhood, according to the Zillow real estate website.
The rankings were compiled by combining the Zillow Home Value Index — which shows the value of single family residences, crime data, how close each house is to its neighbor, and the age of the residents who live there, particularly those under 15.
Zillow said the data reveal the safest cities to trick or treat, and where kids can amass the best candy in the least amount of time.
San Francisco topped the list for the fifth year in a row, followed by San Jose, Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Phoenix.
The sweetest trick-or-treating neighborhoods in San Diego were Del Mar Heights, Carmel Valley, Loma Portal, Carmel Mountain and Mission Hills.
