 Mild weather is expected Sunday and next week in San Diego County, with cooling and stronger onshore winds and a slight chance of showers in the latter half of the week, forecasters said Saturday.

The downtown San Diego area will see mostly clear skies Sunday, with highs near 70, according to the National Weather Service.

Some rain is possible on Friday, according to current forecasts.

The deserts are expected to be mostly clear and sunny, with highs reaching the upper 80s by mid-week. A mix of clear and cloudy conditions are expected in the mountains throughout the week, with highs in the mid-60s to mid- 70s.

Along the coast, cloudy conditions are expected this week, with daytime highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Inland valley areas are expected to see partly cloudy conditions through Friday, with highs reaching the low 70s.

Sunday’s San Diego surf forecast includes a moderate-risk rip current, with surf height from 2 to 4 feet and a mixed south swell from 210 degrees and west swell from 260 degrees.
