A pair of power outages left thousands of homes and businesses without electrical service Friday in Normal Heights, North Park and University Heights.
The first of the two blackouts began about 11:50 p.m. Thursday, and the second hit shortly after 10:30 a.m. Friday, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.
As of midday Friday, a total of 2,406 addresses were without power in the three mid-city communities, SDG&E reported.
All the affected customers were expected to be back in service by late Friday afternoon, according to the utility company, which attributed the outages to “a need to repair SDG&E equipment.”
