San Diego Police were on the lookout Wednesday for a man who attempted to rob a dry-cleaning business in Hillcrest, but fled empty- handed.

The suspect walked up at an employee at Veribest Cleaners on Robinson Avenue near Fourth Avenue with a brown paper bag over his hand and demanded cash at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.

The employee told the would-be robber she didn’t have any money, so he turned around and ran off, Heims said. He was last seen headed south in the east alley off Fourth Avenue.

Police described the suspect as a thin white man in his 50s. He was wearing a white T-shirt over his head with holes for his eyes and mouth.
