A 39-year-old man facing assault and arson charges in San Diego now is suspected in a Lemon Grove motel fire, authorities said.

The suspect was re-booked on an additional arson charge Saturday, a day after the fire at the Grove Motel on Broadway, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s detectives and investigators from the Metro Arson Strike Team had arrested Carlos Antonio Landa and booked him for assault and arson charges unrelated to the motel fire.

Bail for Landa is set at $250,000.

The motel fire was reported around 12:15 p.m. Friday.
