San Diego MLS, the newest team in Major League Soccer, has named two industry veterans to oversee partnerships and ticketing for the club.
Leading the overall scope of work is Jen Bower, who will serve as executive vice president, partnerships, premium and ticketing at Legends for San Diego MLS. Mark Morris will be senior vice president of global partnerships for both San Diego MLS and Right to Dream properties.
This news follows the club’s recent multi-year partnership with Legends, a global premium experiences company, for services across partnerships. The aim is to maximize revenue generation for the club through a streamlined, data-driven sales approach.
Originally from Canada, Bower has developed deep roots and a strong knowledge of the market after more than 20 years in San Diego. She graduated from San Diego State University, was captain of the cross-country team and ran track for the Aztecs.
She spent over a decade with the San Diego Chargers and Fox Sports then joined Legends in 2019. Recently, she played a critical role over the last three years exceeding revenue goals and securing naming rights and founding partnerships as vice president, stadium partnerships at Legends for Snapdragon Stadium, the new home of San Diego MLS.
Morris’ background includes driving successful business initiatives at ESPN, Live Nation and Fox Sports. He served as senior vice president, corporate partnerships for Los Angeles Football Club as the new MLS club launched in 2018. In the past few years, Mark has served in commercial roles in European soccer, as well as the NWSL, which has a San Diego club, the Wave FC.
“Jen [Bower] and Mark [Morris] are proven leaders with long histories of accelerating growth and developing valuable and meaningful partnerships for their clients and communities,” said Tom Penn, CEO, San Diego MLS. “Both have close ties to San Diego and will help galvanize the business community and passionate soccer fanbase throughout San Diego.”
San Diego MLS is a partnership between Right to Dream, the global soccer community of academies, clubs and educational partners, and the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, the first Native American tribe to have an ownership stake in professional soccer in the U.S.
Right to Dream is owned by entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist Mohamed Mansour, who will serve at San Diego MLS chairman. Also joining the investor group is club partner and San Diego Padre All-Star Manny Machado.
