The Front Porch, a gourmet food and specialty products store, is opening its second San Diego location Thursday in Coronado.
Entrepreneurs Melissa Scott Clark, an actress, and Gina Champion-Cain, a real-estate developer and restaurateur, opened the first Front Porch in Mission Hills last August. The second is located at 918 Orange Avenue in Coronado.
Both locations offer a daily assortment of prepared foods, sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts created by John Medall, The Patio on Goldfinch’s award-winning chef.
The shops also stock hand-crafted food and kitchen items from home and abroad, including specialty condiments, fine teas, pasta sauces, vinegars, olive oil, candles, utensils, cookbooks and apothecary goods.
“I created The Front Porch brand because I have the desire to share the incredible tastes that I discover during my travels worldwide,” said Scott Clark, who is a former “Baywatch” star. “My partner, Gina, created The Patio Restaurants to share her culinary vision of excellence with the communities she serves.
“We are delighted to bring our handcrafted recipes throughout the San Diego region, reflecting both visions,” she added. “The Front Porch is a remarkable fit for this incredible neighborhood,”
