A modular bridge was hoisted into place in Civita in preparation for development of a 14-acre park in the growing Mission Valley community.
The precast concrete bridge will span a pedestrian walkway that connects the lower section of Civita Park to the upper section. Official groundbreaking for the park is scheduled for this summer.
Developer Sudberry Properties plans an outdoor amphitheater, dog park interactive water feature, community garden, exercise nodes, jogging path, two basketball half courts, restrooms and a parking lot. Trails will connect surrounding neighborhoods with the park.
Civita is a sustainable, transit-oriented village rising in a 70-year-old sand and gravel quarry. Plans for the property call for up to 4,780 homes and apartments in different configurations, approximately 480,000 square feet for a retail center and 420,000 square feet for an office/business campus.
