A multiple-vehicle crash in Interstate 5 in National City Wednesday sent two motorists to a hospital and caused a backup.
Up to five vehicles crashed in the northbound lanes near Mile of Cars Way shortly after 5:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. A SigAlert was issued for two northbound lanes.
The two injured motorists were taken to UC San Diego Medical Center to be treated, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.
