A 28-year-old man was stabbed in the chest by his younger brother during a fight over control of a television at a Grantville residence, police said Tuesday.

The victim and his 25-year-old brother began arguing over the television at a home in the 10000 block of Caminito Cascara near Rancho Mission Road shortly before midnight, San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros said.

At some point during the scuffle, the older man struck his brother with his cane. The younger brother retaliated by stabbing the older brother in his chest, according to the officer.

Delimitros said the older brother was hospitalized with a life- threatening knife wound.
