A single-story home was damaged by fire early Sunday in the Mission Hills neighborhood, fire officials said.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department crews responded to a report of the fire in the 1000 block of Hunter Street at 1:37 a.m. Sunday and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the back of the home, according to a department incident report.

Crews attacked the fire and prevented it from spreading to nearby residences. The fire was confined to the rear deck, interior of the back of the house and the attic.

No one was injured. One adult was displaced and did not need assistance from the Red Cross.

Property damage was estimated to be $600,000.

The SDFRD metro arson strike team was investigating the fire.
