A motorcyclist suffered severe injuries Thursday in a collision with an SUV in an Escondido intersection, authorities reported.
Roberto Aguilar, 46, was riding to the east on Second Avenue when his motorcycle hit a northbound Chevrolet Suburban at Kalmia Street about 3:45 p.m., according to police.
Medics took Aguilar to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, Lt. Justin Murphy said. The driver of the SUV, 36-year-old Maria Chavez, was unhurt.
Aguilar and Chavez were both operating their vehicles without a valid driver’s license, Murphy lieutenant said. It was unclear who was at fault for the crash.
