San Diego State freshman forward Malik Pope had a nice game Tuesday night against New Mexico scoring 16 points, but no play was flashier than the alley-oop dunk that he threw down over two New Mexico defenders.

The dunk occurred with a little over five minutes left in the game, with the Aztecs lead well in hand, and the pass came from junior guard Winston Shepard.

Pope, who was a highly touted recruit out of Elk Grove High School in Sacramento, has already had flashy alley-oops like his one on Tuesday night, and has come on strong off the Aztecs bench down the stretch this season.

In his freshman year Pope is averaging 5.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 14 minutes per-game.
