A 20-year-old man riding his skateboard illegally on a San Ysidro-area street Thursday suffered a serious leg injury in a collision with a pickup truck, according to San Diego police.
The skater was headed west in an eastbound lane on Beyer Boulevard when the northbound 2000 Toyota Tacoma hit him at Alaquinas Drive shortly after noon.
Medics took the young man to a hospital for treatment of a broken thighbone, Sgt. Ray Battrick said. No other injuries were reported.
