San Diego County reported 482 new cases of COVID-19 and five more deaths Thursday, while 23 more people had to be admitted to hospitals.

With the new data, the total number of local cases rose to 373,181, while the death toll increased to 4,246.

There were no additional patients in intensive care, officials said.

The country noted 26,329 new tests Thursday. The percentage of new positive cases over the past week remained 3.2%.

Meanwhile, the U.S. continued to roll out the COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11, the latest group to become eligible for the shots.

A limited amount of the initial 15 million shots being distributed were available Wednesday, but they are expected to be more widely accessible at pediatrician’s offices, children’s hospitals and pharmacies next week.

Walgreens Boots Alliance, CVS Health and Rite Aid, are among chains offering appointments for this weekend.
