The Navy released a dramatic photo of a San Diego-based guided-missile destroyer plowing through heavy seas in the eastern Pacific ocean.

The photo, taken by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Matthew F. Jackson, shows a large wave breaking over the bow of the USS Paul Hamilton during routine training.

Named after the third Secretary of the Navy, the Paul Hamilton is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer commissioned in 1995.
