The driver of a pickup truck fled Friday after the vehicle struck and gravely injured a pedestrian in a road crossing near Chicano Park.
The white Ford F-150 hit the 52-year-old woman at Kearny Avenue and Cesar Chavez Parkway in Logan Heights about 11 a.m., according to San Diego police. The motorist then drove off to the north, Officer Tony Martinez said.
Medics took the victim, whose name was not released, to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening head trauma.
