Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the appointment Thursday of Carlsbad resident Robin Sunkees to the Court Reporters Board of California.
Sunkees, 57, has been a court reporter with the San Diego County Superior Court since 1991. Before coming to San Diego, she also served as a court reporter for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona and M.L. Spicer Reporting in the late 1980s.
She is currently a member of the San Diego Superior Court Reporters Association. She is also a member of the California Court Reporters Association and the National Court Reporters Association, according to the governor’s office.
Sunkees, a Democrat, will not require confirmation by the state Senate to begin serving on the board. She will be compensated with $100 per diem, the governor’s office said.
