The National Weather Service office in San Diego issued a fire weather warning for Saturday night and Sunday morning in the mountains of San Diego County.
“The combination of the strong winds, low humidity and dry fuels will result in elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions this evening through early Sunday morning,” the weather service said.
Meteorologists are forecasting west winds peaking at 45 to 55 mph with the relative humidity dropping below 15%.
The greatest risk is from the mountain crests east through the desert slopes.
