A fight between a divorced couple in a transient encampment in the Grant Hill neighborhood Sunday left the woman hospitalized and the man jailed for allegedly stabbing her.
The woman’s current boyfriend called for help after the fight broke out in the vicinity of 28th and G streets shortly before 11:30 a.m., San Diego police Sgt. Tom Sullivan said. It was unclear what they were fighting about, he said.
At some point, the man pulled a knife and stabbed his ex-wife once in the abdomen and once in the wrist, Sullivan said.
The woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening wounds, and the suspected assailant was arrested a few blocks away, according to the sergeant. No names were immediately available.
Neither the suspect nor victim were cooperating with investigators, Sullivan said.
