A baby boy decided the third inning of the Padres-Giants game Thursday night was the perfect time to be born.
The baby, named Levi, was the first birth at Petco Park in its 11-season history, according to the ballpark.
We welcomed a baby boy to the world in Palm Court Plaza earlier this evening. First baby to be born at Petco Park! ?

Capt. Joe Amador of San Diego Fire-Rescue Department told the San Diego Union Tribune the baby and mother were transported to Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center.
Great crowd of 31,137 here tonight– of course that doesn’t include the baby boy that was born @PetcoPark around the third inning. — San Diego Padres (@Padres) September 25, 2015
The little slugger was probably the team’s good luck charm.
Matt Kemp’s double in the eighth inning tied the game at 4-4, leading up to Alexi Amarista’s RBI single at the bottom of the ninth to give the Padres their second straight walk-off win and a series victory over the Giants.
