Baseball season opens in Southern California on Monday with the San Diego Padres playing Los Angeles in the recently renovated Dodger Stadium.

Rhythm and blues singer Tinashe will sing the national anthem, and two Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets will fly over the stadium.

The 2014 National League MVP and Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw will through the first pitch at 1:10 p.m.

Fans attending the sold-out game will experience changes in the 53-year-old stadium, at the concession stands and on the field.

The Lexus Dugout Club has undergone a major renovation, the first since it opened in 2000, allowing for more food options and an enhanced menu.

New food choices elsewhere in the stadium include fried Dodger Dogs at the Extreme Loaded Dogs location on the field level; a breaded chicken sandwich and tenders; carne asada specialty fries at La Taqueria stands on the field and reserve levels; and Lasorda’s meatball marinara cone and meatball marinara specialty fries at Tommy Lasorda’s Italian Trattoria in the right field plaza.

Several nacho locations have been added throughout the stadium. The loaded helmet nachos will be available in vegetarian and vegan versions.

New security guidelines will be in effect, following procedures mandated by Major League Baseball. All fans will go through walk-through magnetometers or be subject to hand-held metal detectors.

The Padres home opener is on Thursday against in San Francisco Giants in Petco Park.
