Dozens of San Diegans gathered at City Hall Plaza Sunday for the Climate Mobilization Walk and Rally, asking for measures that would help transition the United States to clean energy.
“We will gather at City Hall Plaza, then walk to the San Diego Federal Building at Broadway and Front Street to petition the U.S. Government to immediately commence the WWII-style mobilization that’s necessary to rapidly transform the United States into a 100% clean energy economy,” a press release before the event stated.
The march was organized by the Ocean Beach People’s Organic Food Market and endorsed by a number of other local groups, including the San Diego County Democratic Party, and the Sierra Club.
The event also featured a concert by the Swamp Critters, as well as a bike raffle.
