U.S. and coalition military forces — including the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson from San Diego — continue to attack ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq, with 10 air strikes over a 24-hour period ending Saturday.

Forces from he United States and coalition partners have been carrying out attacks daily since last August as part of operation Inherent Resolve.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS or ISIL, seeks to set up a “caliphate” governing all Muslim countries in the Mideast, and has used brutal terrorist tactics.

Here is a list of the most recent airstrikes:

Syria

  • Bomber aircraft conducted three airstrikes near Kobani, destroying nine ISIS fighting positions, one ISIS vehicle, one large ISIS machine gun, and one ISIS machine gun.

Iraq

  • Near Mosul, two airstrikes destroyed one ISIS storage facility and neutralized one ISIS rocket site, one ISIS RPG position, one ISIS large machine gun, and one ISIS mortar.
  • Near Kirkuk, one airstrike destroyed one ISIS fighting position, one ISIS tank and one ISIS excavator.
  • Near Hit in Anbar Province, one airstrike struck an ISIS tactical unit.
  • Near Ramadi, one airstrike destroyed an ISIS building.
  • Near Taji, one airstrike destroyed two ISIS armored vehicles.
  • Near Beiji, one airstrike destroyed two tactical units.

The Economist, a British news magazine, reported Saturday that continual airstrikes are forcing ISIS to hide and have cut the terrorist group’s income from oil sales by three-quarters.

Joining the United States in attacks in Iraq are Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Jordan, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Coalition nations involved in Syria are Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
