MiraCosta Community College District trustees announced Friday they have approved an audit indicating the district is in good fiscal shape.

Board trustees on Thursday learned the audit received a “good bill of health” for the year ending June 30, 2017, district spokeswoman Kristen Huyck said.

The audit of all MiraCosta’s funds, books and accounts was conducted by the accounting firm Vavrinek, Trine, Day & Co. LLP, in compliance with the California Education Code and in accordance with the regulation of the California Board of Governors.completed the annual audit,  Huyck said.

The district received an “unmodified opinion with no material weaknesses or management comments noted,” Huyck said.

According to the district, this is the seventh year MiraCosta received a clean audit designation, and the third year it has won a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association.
