A car fire spread into brush in Otay Mesa Friday and the flames burned two acres before fire crews stopped it.
The Toyota sedan, registered to a Chula Vista owner, according to OnScene.TV, had been driven into an area known for off roading on Harvest Road near the Donovan Correctional Facility.
Cal Fire received reports of the blaze after 4 p.m. and the car was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, as flames reached the brush.
Crews extinguished the fire within 20 minutes. Authorities could not locate the Toyota driver.
A Cal Fire investigator responded to the scene, as did the California Highway Patrol.
