An unidentified man was found dead Monday in a creek bed near Moonlight State Beach.
A passer-by spotted the body behind a set of tennis courts at Second and West B streets in Encinitas about 9:30 a.m., according to sheriff’s officials.
“Deputies examined the area, and there was no preliminary evidence of injury or foul play discovered,” said Sgt. Agustin Rosas.
The county Medical Examiner’s Office was called in to take custody of the body for identification and autopsy purposes.
