It took firefighters about 15 minutes Monday to subdue a blaze that damaged a Fairmount Park-area recycling center.

Flames began spreading through the facility in the 4100 block of Home Avenue for unknown reasons about 2:45 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

At one point, firefighters were concerned about gas cylinders inside the structure that could have exploded.

The cause of the non-injury blaze was under investigation,
