A 61-year-old surfer was found dead this morning at Swami’s State Beach.
A passer-by found the body of Kenneth Mann of Encinitas lying face-down in a wet suit next a surfboard on the shoreline near the 1300 block of South Coast Highway 101 about 5 a.m., according to sheriff’s officials and the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
It was unclear how long Mann had been dead.
A cause-of-death ruling is on hold pending autopsy results.
