Westfield UTC is set to expand, a project that includes the addition of new luxury boutiques and restaurants along with enhanced amenities.

The project will be developed on the former Nordstrom site and an adjacent wing of shops, with no impact to the center’s existing operations, according to the announcement from Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, which operates 72 shopping centers in 12 countries.

With the new development, the group will pursue LEED certification, incorporating sustainable building strategies using renewable energy, natural materials, biophilic design, and biodiversity to enhance Westfield UTC’s environmental, social and economic contributions to the local community.

The project include sustainability features, community gathering places and green spaces.

“Westfield UTC is a one-of-a-kind lifestyle destination that continues to build on its longstanding legacy to deliver one of the best customer experiences in California,” said Kim Brewer, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s senior vice president, development in the U.S. “This project presents an exciting opportunity to unlock the full potential of the former Nordstrom space, adding something completely fresh for our guests and ensuring its continued positive impact in the community.”

An additional valet adjacent to the new area is also planned. The project, officials said, will include breezy concourses accented with landscaping, detailed paving and groups of modern furnishings.

“This expansion will elevate the already exceptional experience at Westfield UTC, and reflects our continued commitment to creating extraordinary, sustainable places where people can connect through meaningful shared experiences,” said Ryan Perry, senior general manager, Westfield UTC.

Work on the expansion has begun, with a phased opening set to begin in early 2026.
