Legoland California plans to break ground Wednesday on its first castle-themed hotel in North America.
The 250-room hotel will feature Lego castle decor including knights, princesses, dragons, wizards and more. There will be a pool with slides and play features, and a themed restaurant.
The project by British-based Merlin Entertainments will be the second hotel at the park in Carlsbad and will include a new parking structure.
Opening is expected in the spring of 2018.
